Overall Ratings

The Three Main Differences Between The Shark nz801ukt and nz850ukt

Anti-hair wrap: Both sharks upright nz801ukt and nz850ukt have the anti-hair wrap feature that prevents hair from tangling with the brush roll. The design of the brush roll is identical on both models. But, in the sharks’ nz801ukt, its anti-hair wrap feature is more advanced. That actively removes wrapped hair from the brush roll, and the cleaning job gets done by itself. So, we can call shark nz801ukt the self-cleaning vacuum cleaner.

On the other hand, the sharks nz850ukt anti-hair wrap prevents hair from wrapping, but it doesn’t actively remove it.

Dust Cup size:

The dust cup of both models is made with transparent plastic that’s durable and long-lasting enough. In the shark nz850ukt, its dust cup size is larger than the nz801ukt. Its size is 1.3 litres, it’s sufficient for medium to large house cleaning, and the larger dust cup holds more debris.

The shark nz801ukt, its dust compartment size is 0.83 litres, which is not so small. It’s enough for the small to medium-size houses. In our test, this size didn’t hamper our long cleaning task, but if you pick this model for a large house cleaning, it would be a good choice, but you’ll need to empty its dust cup often.

Suction power: In the shark nz850ukt, its motor power is 800 watts and serves 25% more extra suction against the shark nz801ukt. But this slight suction difference doesn’t affect your day to day cleaning tasks.

Shark nz801ukt vs nz850ukt: Multiple surface cleaning test comparison.

Bare Floor, tile floor and hardwood floor:

We used both shark vacuums to pick up pet hair, long hair, and fine to extra large debris on bare, tile, and hardwood floors. The duo clean brush roll system does an excellent job. The soft brush roll is motor powered. It directly contacts debris on its path, forcibly moves them into the dirt compartment and leaves the surface a polished look.

Low pile, high pile carpet and rug areas:

The shark Shark nz801ukt and nz850ukt, both upright vacuumsare excellent for cleaning carpets and area rugs. We haven’t faced any issues with picking up pets’ hair, human hair, and small to large size debris using both models. And their anti-hair wrap feature worked flawlessly in our test. The Shark nz801ukt has some thin plastic fins in the gaps between bristle brushes. Which actively prevents hair from tangling by pushing hair upwards.

On the Shark nz801ukt, it did a great job in the anti-hair wrap test. It has small combs on the top of the primary brush roller. It actively removes hair when during its run.

Stairs Cleaning Performance Comparison.

Both shark Shark nz801ukt and nz850ukt are best for stair cleaning. They are heavier in size, but the powered lift-away makes them easy to carry by one hand. Powered lift-away means that the wand will still have power if the dust compartment is detached from the main body. This thing is more beneficial for stair cleaning. Both vacuums come with a turbo pet brush, which allows cleaning pet hair from your sofas, stairs, and bed, and gives easy access in the tightest spaces, under the bed and couches.

Shark nz801ukt vs nz850ukt: Additional attachments comparison

Both of the shark models are multi-surface workhorse and comes with additional attachments. With the attachments, you will be able to clean pet hair and small to large debris from couches, mattresses, stairs and every corner of your house.

In both shark models, additional attachments are the same.

You’ll get a turbo pet tool, Duster Crevice Tool, and an upholstery tool.

Shark nz801ukt vs nz850ukt: Features Comparison

Shark nz801ukt vs nz850ukt, settings control

The shark’s models boast advanced features to make your cleaning tasks lots easier. In both shark vacuums, you will discover anti-hair wrap technology, duo clean brush roll systems, powered lift-away mode, easy to clean bagless dust cup, and anti-allergen HEPA filtration systems.

Three differences we noticed when tested. It’s the anti-hair wrap feature. In the shark nz850ukt, its anti-hair wrap technology prevents hair wrap but doesn’t remove wrapped hair. But, in the shark nz801ukt, its anti-hair wrap prevents hair wrap and removes wrapped hair.

In the shark nz850ukt, you will get three different settings to adjust its cleaning mode with the surfaces. The cleaning settings slider switch is located on the wand handle. The first position of the settings is for cleaning thick carpets and area rugs, the second is for cleaning low pile carpets, and the third is for cleaning the hardwood floor. So you can change its cleaning mode as you need.

The shark nz801ukt has two settings to adjust the vacuum cleaning strength with the surfaces. You can match this vacuum strength by sliding the switch between hard floor to carpets mode. And another beneficial feature you’ll notice on the wand handle is a suction control slider that lets you minimize or maximize the suction power manually.
